Purpose: 
         
              The meeting is sponsored annually by the West Coast Bacterial Physiologists (WCBP),
       a non profit organization, to foster communications among researchers and students working
              in the broad area of microbial physiology on the West Coast of the USA.  Participants now 
              also come from Canada, the Midwest and the East Coast.  The conference especially provides
              an informal forum for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to present and discuss the 
              results of their ongoing research projects.  The meeting announcement and previous years' 
              programs are included herein.
